Comet Takeover (Rider Review)

Comet Takeover Rider Review

First of all I just want to say this board is sick! It is a great freeride shape with less taper so it seems more symmetrical. Here we have a rider review from Henry.

Freeride/Slide - 9/10 (what this deck is for)
Downhill - 7/10 (it's not the best choice but it's viable)
Cruise/Carve - 4/10 (there are far better cruising boards, carving I guess is fine)
Freestyle - 4/10 (get a board with kicks if thats what you want to do)

Comet Shred 38 Deck Review

The comet shred city 38 is the biggest of the comet's shred series and is one awesome hybrid. This board is long enough that you can put both your feet on the trucks and can still pop a kickflip. It is more of a freeriding hybrid board rather than techsliding because of its size. Smaller freeride wheels are better on this board so you don't get wheelbite. Around 65mm wheels would be ideal.

Comet Ethos 39 Review

The Comet Ethos 39 can really do everything! This larger size is great for freeride, tail slides, kickflips, boardslides, and even some downhill. The good sized wheel wells allow you to run bigger wheels and really helps prevent wheelbite. Another thing I really like are the cutout rails under the board. These rails really lock your hands in during grab slides and also provide you with some comfort when carrying the board up the hill. The concave of the Ethos is not a super sharp concave. However, Comet is known for their really comfortable concave. The rocker and concave combo is comfortable while cruising/commuting and also locks your feet in naturally during slides.
