Abec 11 Flashbacks are a great all around wheel. You can pretty much do anything with them. These wheels were once used a lot in the downhill world. Nowadays they are used mostly for faster freeride. Here is some basic information on the slide and grip of these wheels.
Grip: Abec 11 Flashbacks have a square lip which makes them grippy. As I mentioned above, they were once used as a common downhill wheel. Some people today still use them for downhill. Riders don't use them as much now for downhill because many new wheels have come out that are wider and more grippy. Flashbacks are great for cruising/carving wheels because they are 70mm and will grip on rougher pavement. 84a Flashbacks are a little slidier than usual but better on skatepark type pavement. Most people prefer 78a or 81a for slides and downhill. 75a Flashbacks are also really nice, soft, and grippy.
Slide: Abec 11 Flashbacks are amazing for freeride, especially for faster freeriding. This is because they have a really controlled slide. Classic Abec 11 thane is just super buttery. You have to kick out a little harder compared to round lipped wheels but you have more control while going faster on rougher pavement on these square lips. The softer versions of these wheels shed thane fast and can flatspot easily, especially if you are heavier. Flashbacks have a pretty small core so you have more thane to burn comapred to other wheels like the Abec 11 Freerides. Flashbacks are also somewhat cheap.
Abec 11 Flashbacks have been around for a really long time. They are a go-to wheel for any beginner or advanced rider. Definitely check them out! If you have any questions about Abec 11 Flashbacks, feel free to post below or on our Facebook page. Thanks for reading!
